As an engineer, he helped families build homes and put down roots here. As a dude rancher, he shared the beauty, traditions, and spirit of Grand County with visitors from around the world. And through years of community leadership, he’s gained a deep understanding of the needs of local families, businesses, and the challenges facing the county’s future.

That experience continues to shape his commitment to practical leadership, strong communities, and preserving the quality of life that makes Grand County special.

His background includes:

  • Former school board president

  • Founding member of the Colorado Cross-Country Ski Association

  • Dude ranch owner and small business operator

  • Long-serving member of the Grand County Tourism Board

  • Long-serving member of the Colorado Dude and Guest Ranch Association and Dude Ranchers’ Association

He stepped into public service with a clear goal: Make thoughtful, responsible decisions that protect what makes Grand County special while planning for its future.

Randy was elected County Commissioner in 2022 and has been serving Grand County in that role ever since.
